Climate
The mediterrainian climates name came from where its mostly found which is the mediterranean basin. The mediterranean basin includes parts of Europe, Asia, middle east, and Africa. Mediterranean climates are mostly found at around 30º to 45º degrees latitudes. Places with this climate have very few extreme temptures. Most of the time it feels like theres only summer and winter. Summer is longer then winter. During winter its very rare to have snow. The main changes in the seasons depends on the currents and water tempatures of the oceans.
The weather in the summer are mostly warm and dry compared to the winters which are more wet and mildly cold. most of the summer months average around 50º fahrenheit the warmest month avraging about 75º fahrenheit. The winter months average around 30º to 65º fahrenheit. The Mediterrainean climate in the summer gets almost no rain. This is because in the summer the ocean brings cold waters which also brings the dry air so no rain while during winter the currents change and it brings most air which brings the rain.

Ocean Currents
During the summer, cold currents keep the climate mild and dry. Ocean currents shift as the seasons change. During the winter the water that was warmed up all summer moves in and keeps the land warm and often brings rain. Warm water usual takes longer to cool down then it does to heat up. That being said, its always warmer on the coast during the winters than it is on interior cities.
